Service charge is often included in restaurant bills, commonly 10 percent. Check the bill before adding extra. If service is not included, a modest tip is appreciated but not always expected. Tipping for taxis is not generally required, though rounding up is common. Hotel porters and housekeeping may receive a small tip for good service.
