Mobile Network: Mobile coverage is generally good in major cities, along main highways, and in most populated coastal areas. Speeds are commonly good for everyday use. Coverage can become weak or unavailable in remote Amazon, Pantanal, and interior rural areas.

Roaming/SIM/eSIM: For short stays, roaming is convenient but often expensive and may have data limits. A local SIM usually gives better value if your phone is unlocked and you want reliable local data and calling. eSIM can be the easiest option for many travelers because setup is fast and avoids shop visits, but check that your device supports eSIM and compare data allowances carefully. If you will travel beyond big cities, download offline maps because signal quality can drop in remote regions.

Card acceptance is widespread in cities, airports, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and many taxis or ride-hailing services. Contactless payment is common. Small cash amounts are still useful for markets, beach vendors, rural areas, and smaller bars or snack shops.

Service charge is often included in restaurant bills, commonly 10 percent. Check the bill before adding extra. If service is not included, a modest tip is appreciated but not always expected. Tipping for taxis is not generally required, though rounding up is common. Hotel porters and housekeeping may receive a small tip for good service.
