English is widely spoken, especially in cities, transport hubs, hotels, restaurants, and tourist businesses. In remote areas, service in English is still commonly available but may be more limited.

Mobile Network: Mobile coverage is typically very good in cities, towns, and along major transport routes. Coverage can become weak or unavailable in remote mountain, fjord, tunnel, and far northern areas.

Roaming/SIM/eSIM: If you are visiting from the EEA, roaming is commonly usable under your home plan, but check fair use limits and data caps. For non-EEA visitors, a local SIM can be good value for longer stays, while eSIM is often the easiest option for short trips if your phone supports it. In restaurants, locals commonly round up or leave a small extra amount for good service, often around 5 to 10 percent at most. For taxis, rounding up is typical. Hotel staff do not usually expect tips, but small tips for exceptional service are appreciated.
