The profile behind that QR code has already been claimed — nearly always because the eSIM installed successfully once, on this phone or another
A code releases one profile. Once a device has taken it, the server has nothing left to hand out, and every later attempt gets this message. It is a safeguard rather than a fault.
Why It Appears
- The eSIM is already installed — check your mobile data settings before doing anything else
- It was installed and later deleted, which does not release the profile
- Somebody else scanned the code
- An earlier attempt succeeded even though it appeared to fail
What to Do
- Look in Settings for a line with the destination's name — if it is there, the installation worked and there is nothing to fix
- If the line is not there, do not buy a replacement yet
- Contact support with your order number and say what happened
- Where a reissue is possible we will arrange one
Do not scan the code repeatedly. It will not start working, and multiple failed attempts make it harder for support to see what happened.
If the eSIM was deleted with data still on it, say so — that is the situation where a reissue is most likely, and it is not something we can see from the order alone.
Once it is installed and working, switch the line off rather than deleting it between trips. That is what keeps you out of this message entirely
