Why Is My Plan Still Showing as Pending After Landing?

Something is preventing the phone from registering on a local network — nine times out of ten it is Wi-Fi still switched on, or data roaming still off for the travel line

Pending means the plan is ready and waiting for one thing: a connection to a network in a covered country. Until that handshake happens, nothing counts down.

    The Checklist

    1. Turn Wi-Fi off. Airport Wi-Fi connects automatically and gives the phone no reason to look for a mobile network
    2. Turn data roaming on for the travel line, checking the line rather than the phone
    3. Set mobile data to the travel line
    4. Switch the travel line on if you left it off before flying
    5. Flight mode on for ten seconds, then off
    6. Restart the phone if it is still Pending after that

Allow a few minutes between attempts. An arrivals hall is one of the most congested cells anywhere, and a phone can take longer there than it would on the street outside.

    Less Common Causes

    • You are not yet in a country the plan covers — a layover, or a border town picking up the neighbour's mast
    • Another plan is still running on the same eSIM, and this one is queued behind it
    • The phone is carrier-locked, which blocks the connection rather than the installation

Keep the home SIM's roaming off throughout. A phone that cannot connect on one line will try the other, and that is the expensive one.

Airport Wi-Fi is free almost everywhere, so support is reachable from exactly where you are standing. Bring your order number and ICCID and say what you have already tried
