How Fast Will My Internet Be?

As fast as the local network is at that spot — a travel eSIM does not slow anything down, and in most cities that means normal 4G or 5G speeds

Speed is a property of the mast you are connected to, not of the SIM format. On the same street corner, at the same moment, your travel eSIM and a local resident's contract SIM get much the same result.

    What Actually Sets the Speed

    • The network you are on — 5G where it exists, 4G nearly everywhere else
    • Where you are standing — city centres are fast, rural areas and basements are not
    • Time of day — a busy cell in the evening is slower than the same cell at dawn
    • Your phone — an older handset supports fewer frequency bands and cannot reach the fastest ones
    • Your plan — on an Unlimited Plan, speed reduces after the daily full-speed allowance

In practice, a normal connection in a normal city handles video calls, maps, streaming and tethering without thinking about it. The places you will notice a difference are the same places locals do.

    What We Do Not Promise

We do not publish a speed figure, because no honest one exists. Mobile speed varies by street, by hour and by handset, and any number printed on a page would be wrong somewhere within the day. What the plan guarantees is access to the local networks it lists; how fast they are at your exact spot is theirs to determine.

If the connection feels slower than it should, the first three fixes take under a minute each and solve most cases — see Why is My Internet Slow?
