What Happens if I Travel to Another Country With My Current Plan?

If the new country is on your plan's list, the connection follows you across the border with nothing to do. If it is not, the data stops — quietly, and without charging you

    Crossing Into a Covered Country

    1. Your phone loses the old network and scans for a new one
    2. It connects to a local network on the plan's list
    3. The operator name at the top of the screen changes
    4. Your remaining data and days carry on from where they were

Data and validity are shared across the whole plan. Crossing a border does not reset the allowance and does not restart the clock.

Crossing Into a Country That Is Not Covered

    • The eSIM finds no network it is permitted to use, and no data flows
    • Nothing is charged — there is no account behind the eSIM to bill
    • Your remaining data is not consumed while you are outside the coverage
    • When you return to a covered country, it reconnects on its own

This is the moment your home SIM will try to help, at your operator's roaming rate. If data roaming is still on for that line, it will connect and bill you. Turn it off for the home line before you fly.

    Fixing It Mid-Trip

Buy a plan that covers where you now are — a Country Plan for the new destination, or a Regional Plan if there is more of the itinerary to come. It attaches to the eSIM you already have, so there is nothing to install and nothing to scan. If you have no connection at all, the purchase can be made over Wi-Fi.

A long layover is a country. If you want to be online during a six-hour wait, check whether the transit country is on your list before you assume it is
