Yes, and in several respects safer than a plastic SIM — the profile is encrypted, bound to one device, and cannot be pulled out of a stolen phone and used elsewhere
An eSIM is the same technology as a SIM card, held in a chip designed to resist tampering. The difference is how it gets there, and that route is protected end to end.
Where an eSIM Is Stronger
- It cannot be removed. A thief can take a plastic SIM out and put it in another phone; an eSIM profile stays where it was installed
- It cannot be cloned by hand. There is no card to copy
- It is delivered encrypted, and the profile is issued to one device only
- It cannot be swapped at a shop counter, which is how a good deal of SIM fraud actually happens
What Still Deserves Care
- Your QR code. Anyone who scans it first can install your plan — treat it like a ticket and do not post it anywhere
- Your account. A strong, unique password protects your orders and your tDC balance
- Public Wi-Fi, which is a genuine risk to anything you do on it, eSIM or not
Payment details are entered on the payment provider's own secure form and never reach our servers. We can see that a payment succeeded and for how much — not the card number behind it.
We will never ask for your card number, your password or a verification code by eMail, chat or telephone. A message that does is not from us, whatever address it appears to come from.
One of the better reasons to travel on an eSIM is that nothing has to be registered in your name at a foreign counter — no passport photocopy, no local form, no third party holding your identity documents
