    Why Was My Payment Declined?

Almost always by your bank rather than by us — a foreign online payment for a digital service is exactly the shape of transaction their fraud rules stop first

We never see the reason. The bank answers the payment attempt with a refusal and no explanation, which is deliberate on their part; the fix is therefore at their end, and it is usually quick.

    The Usual Causes

    • Foreign or online payments are blocked on the card, sometimes by default
    • The 3-D Secure step was not completed — a confirmation in the banking app that timed out or was dismissed
    • Billing details do not match the address the bank holds
    • A daily limit has been reached
    • A typo in the number, expiry or security code

    What to Try, in Order

    1. Check the banking app — many refusals arrive there as a notification waiting for approval
    2. Re-enter the card carefully, including the billing address
    3. Try a different card, or a wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay
    4. Call your bank and ask them to allow the payment; it is usually authorised while you are on the line

A pending charge on a declined payment is not a charge. Some banks reserve the amount while deciding and release it within a few days. If you retried several times, you may see several reservations — none of them are collected, and no eSIM was issued for them.

If a payment succeeded but nothing arrived, that is a different problem with a different answer — see How Quickly Will I Receive My eSIM?, and contact support rather than paying again.
