In your account profile — add a card, remove one, or replace the one that is about to expire. The card details are held by the payment provider, never by us
Saving a card is optional. It exists so a top-up mid-trip is two taps rather than a hunt through a wallet, and because Auto Renew needs a card on file to work.
What You Can Do
- Add a card — it is verified by the payment provider before it is stored
- Remove one you no longer use
- Replace an expired card; the site marks an expired one clearly rather than failing silently at the till
What is stored is a token from the payment provider plus the last digits and the expiry, so you can tell your cards apart. The full number never reaches our servers and cannot be read back by anyone, including us.
An expired card stops Auto Renew. If a renewal is set up on a card that expires mid-trip, the renewal fails and — after repeated failures — pauses itself. Replacing the card before you travel is the fix; see What is Auto-Renew, and How do I Turn It Off?
Removing every card is a perfectly reasonable way to be certain nothing can ever be charged automatically. You can still buy anything at any time by entering a card at checkout
