Yes — buy the plan you want and it goes onto the same eSIM, with no reinstallation and no change to any setting on your phone
The profile on your phone and the plan running on it are two different things. Switching plans replaces the second, and leaves the first exactly where it is.
How It Works
- Buy the new plan from your account or from any destination page
- It is attached to your existing eSIM automatically
- It starts when the current plan ends, or when you arrive somewhere it covers
- Nothing on the phone needs to be scanned, deleted or reconfigured
Only one plan runs at a time. A newly bought plan waits in Pending until the running one finishes or you reach a country it covers — see What does "Pending Plan" Mean?
The Common Reasons to Switch
- The itinerary grew and now crosses a border the current plan does not cover
- The trip was extended and the validity is about to end
- The data is going faster than expected and a larger plan is better value than a top-up
Switching does not refund what is left on the plan you are leaving. Unused data and remaining days go with it, so switch when the current plan is nearly finished rather than at the start — or buy the larger plan up front.
If you only need more data in the same country, a top-up is usually cheaper than a whole new plan. If you need a different country, a new plan is the only way
