Pending means the plan is bought, paid for and waiting — everything is in place, and it has simply not met the one condition that starts the clock: being connected to a network in a country it covers
It is the normal state of a plan between checkout and arrival, and it is good news rather than a fault. A pending plan is spending none of its data and none of its days.
Pending
Bought and ready. No data used, no days counted. This is what you should see while you are still at home
Active
Running. Data is being used and the validity period is counting down
Why a Plan Stays Pending
- You have not arrived yet — much the most common reason, and nothing to act on
- Another plan on the same eSIM is still running; the queued one waits its turn
- The phone has not yet connected to a mobile network at the destination
It changes to Active by itself. There is no activate button, and pressing anything is not required — see When does My Purchased Plan Become Active? for the full list of conditions.
If you have landed, switched Wi-Fi off and waited a few minutes and it is still Pending, something in the settings is holding it up. Why is My Plan Still Showing as Pending After Landing? is the checklist for that.
