What Happens to My Unused Data?

It ends with the plan — unused data does not roll over to the next plan, and it cannot be refunded, paused or moved to someone else

A travel eSIM is prepaid access for a defined period, in the same way an event ticket is for a defined night. What you buy is the right to use up to that amount within those days, and what you do not use is not held anywhere afterwards.

    When a Plan Ends

    • The data runs out, even if days remain
    • The last day passes, even if data remains

Whichever comes first ends it. The eSIM profile itself stays on your phone and can carry a new plan whenever you want one — it is the plan that expires, not the eSIM.

    Getting Better Value Next Time

    • Buy closer to your real usage. Your phone can tell you what that is — see How do I Estimate My Data Usage?
    • Start smaller and top up. A top-up mid-trip costs less than a large plan you half use
    • Match validity to the trip. Longer validity is not free, and days you are not there are days you paid for

The days count from activation, not purchase, so buying early never wastes validity. Buying large is the thing that can waste money.

If you leave early or the trip is cut short, there is nothing to reclaim — but the eSIM stays installed, so the next trip starts at the checkout rather than at the set-up
