One eSIM lives on one device — but you can share its connection with everything else you are carrying, over the hotspot
A profile is claimed by the first device that installs it. There is no way to have the same eSIM connected on a phone and a tablet at the same time, and no plan permits it.
Sharing Instead
- Install the eSIM on the phone you always have with you
- Turn on the personal hotspot
- Connect the tablet, the laptop, or a travelling companion's phone

When to Buy a Second eSIM
- A tablet or laptop that needs its own connection when the phone is elsewhere
- Two travellers going separate ways during the day
- A work phone and a personal phone both needing data
A hotspot runs the host phone's battery down quickly. If a second device needs to be online all day, its own plan is more practical than a phone tethering with 20 per cent battery at four in the afternoon.
