In My eSIMs, where each eSIM shows what it has used and what remains — the figure comes from the network, not from your phone
Your phone's own counter is not the one to trust. It counts what the phone sent, resets when you tell it to, and knows nothing about the plan's allowance. The network's figure is the one the plan is measured against.
The Accurate Way
- Sign in and open My eSIMs
- Select the eSIM you are travelling on
- Read the remaining data and the days left on the plan
Usage is reported by the network on a delay, typically minutes rather than seconds. Watching it during a large download will always look behind, and it catches up on its own.
The Rough Way, on the Phone
- iPhone: Settings › Mobile Data — scroll to the travel line and read its total
- Android: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › the travel line › App data usage
Useful for seeing which app is spending the data, which the account figure does not show. Reset the counter when the plan activates and the two will stay roughly in step.
On an Unlimited Plan there is no total to count down. What matters is the daily full-speed allowance, and the first sign of reaching it is the connection slowing rather than a number changing.
