The eSIM goes with it — a profile cannot be moved to a replacement handset. Secure the accounts first, then contact support about the plan
Straight Away
- Use your account provider's find-my-device tool to lock the phone remotely
- Tell your home operator, so the number can be blocked
- Change the passwords on anything the phone was signed into
- If it held payment cards, notify your bank
Locking the phone remotely does not remove the eSIM, and whoever has it may still have a working data connection. That is one more reason to lock rather than only to erase — an erase can fail if the device is offline.
About the Plan
The plan itself is tied to a profile on that device. Contact support with your order number: where a reissue onto a new device is possible we will arrange it, and where it is not we will tell you plainly rather than leave you guessing.
Your account is not on the phone. Sign in from any browser to see your orders, your eSIMs and your tDC balance — nothing is lost with the handset except the profile itself.
Before the Next Trip
- Keep the confirmation eMails — they hold the order details support will ask for
- Use an authenticator app rather than SMS codes, so a lost phone is not also a lost bank
- Note down your home operator's overseas number, on paper
A lost or stolen phone abroad is one of the few situations where a second cheap handset earns its place — an eSIM installed on it and switched off costs nothing until the day it is needed
